The KVFD has worked very hard over the years to provide the highest quality of service to the people of our district. As chief, I am extremely confident in the individuals who make up this department and in the service we provide. We have an outstanding group of members who work hard and train diligently and who take great pride in both the services they provide and in our department. The department and community have been fortunate to receive FEMA grants for the past two years. These grants have allowed us to replace all of our SCBAs (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatuses) with new state-of-the-art MSA packs. We also replaced all of our rescue tools, the cascade system, our life packs on our ambulances and almost all of our bunker gear. We also acquired new equipment we never had such as: an MSA Thermal Imaging Camera, a Hurst 220 ton airbag set and rescuing jacks. This equipment helps us provide a more thorough quality of service. I have proudly been a member of the KVFD since 1980. After working my way through the ranks, I was elected as Chief in 2001. I am fortunate to work with a great group of officers, who have helped to get our department to where it is now.
